*The race will be held within a few weeks. For now, I know it will be one open age/ ability category, purely for fun, with fun prizes that will be bought with money donated from the riders who race. It will be non-profit, and merely for fun. See it as a way to take the edge off from the wait between O-CUP #1 & 2.

How you can help:

1) Determine a fair price to donate? (Practice day and Race day) -Used to buy swag and prizes (prizes for places 1-5)
2) Will you come?
3) Do you know people who may be interested?
4) Please spread the word!

*Note: This will not be held by anyone, just see it as a bunch of riders hosting a 'fun' race. We are all going to host it together so no one is held responsible, everyone is responsible for themselves. It is held on public property.

sounds fun.. what would the timing system be like and also in whistler they have toonie races...perhaps that would be a fair price.

yes, a toonie would be a fair price if we had hundreds of racers.
With like 20 people max : 20x2=40 (hardly enough for a couple prizes)

I was thinking more along the line of 15 $ per person, and have a free barbeque, free swag, and sick prizes. An overall good time.

really 15 dollars? skip the prizes...have a bbq at the end. Why would anyone want to pay 15 dollars to ride a sub 30second course and not even have a proper timing system?

Sorry Mr. high class. It will be over a minute course, and 15 was ball park. In understand that was a little high priced, even $8-10 would work, and thats not much money to get stuff in return. All depends on the turn out. Like I said, nothing is written in stone, so don't get your panties in a bunch when i thrown an idea around. Keep in mind, this is non-profit, its from the riders, for the riders.

Probably the majority of the racers will be from your team
All said and done, the race should be a fun get together to have a good time & a good ride, train and get some swag, as well as get a nice little race in between the long wait from o-cup 1 - 2.

And o-cup is 48 to race and about 28 to practice?
We also have a super tech timing system.

yeah your right this isnt ocup which is why it should be toonie max or free. Anything more is to expensive for any race that doesnt have an electronic timing system. Definetly skip the prizes and have a bbq with the money u get off the toonie entrance fee. It's just silly to pay 10 bucks when people are really just coming out to ride and have a good time.. on a trail which cost nothing to build/set up with no permits or fees or insurnace cost nor a proper timing system and without safety patrol and on scene medics. your right this isnt ocup like u said.. plus ocup trails are longer to up to 1min 45 for some.

Are you considering going to ride there, or just have a beef with what they are trying to do?
I'm from argentina and i get it! i don't see anyone asking for a fee for services, work or anything like that, i see them saying lets piching some money to to give something to the top guys so is taking a bit more seriously, maybe you guys should call it the O-MEDAL but actually give a cup, since the O-Cup get you a medal.

what do u mean its a great idea and im all for having a bunch of people getting together for a day of riding/racing.... but when i heard cost comes into play then HOW MUCH i found it pretty ridicolous to be honest. It should be free.. id be down to pitch for burgers and hot dogs though.

ahahahaha, thanks for that. The trail isn't exactly 'free' come spend 1-2 hours a day building it, and you can race for 2 bucks.

ok... so no we are not charging the time that it is taking us to build this trail, Juan is right we are asking for something not for us but to give back to the top riders. we have already put alot of work into it and alot more is to come. we are gaining nothing from it. jsut a good time to be had by everyone and some fun prizes for the riders, absolutly nothing will be kept for Rob or anyone else.(unless he wins of course.
