So now that IH will be going strictly sport check ­style­ bikes, where do you think the Sam Hill will go? This topic has exploded on other sites so let's try to keep it kinda controlled.

Personally I think he will be going to Trek. They have the money for a big rider and now they have the WC worthy bike for him.

Well, Ironhorse is not stopping production and sales of high end bikes. They have just pulled out of the majority of bike stores to operate out of one store and do almost all of their business over the internet. Ironhorse has also acquired the license to the suspension technologies used by Ellesworth. Ironhorse is planning on releasing WC level racing bikes with the new Ellesworth technology in 2010.

As for Hill, I've heard rumors of him going to all kinds of different companies like Specialized, Santa Cruz, Trek, etc. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what really goes down.

As far as IH I have heard so many rumors of what is going on. Heard they were just producing split pivot to just producing sport check bikes. How about some solid info!
Jon- Where did you hear they were using the Ellsworth pattent? That would be really interesting if it was true. Ellsworth does some pretty good stuff.

I heard he was going to be riding specialized as well..but they dont really have a high level dh race bike..

I would love to see him go to santa cruz..that team would be soo damn good!

Santa Cruz would be way too stacked to pay for all these high profile riders. But would be interesting have the podium completely SC.

Would be nice to get a new team on top so we can have some new team competitions...Commencal, SC and who else?!

its hard to say, although Ironhorse has lost the DW ­link­ it seems like they are still going to try and use a new ­link­age system and keep their top end line of bikes, just cutting back on where they distribute them, so Hill may end up staying with Ironhorse, depending what they do to the ­link­age, if they can produce another good ­link­age system he might stay considering he's been with them forever. all i can say is that i hope its not specialized, that would be ultimate disrespect

they will be coming on huge for DH racing in 2009
Martin Whitely who was the team manager for the Honda team and the late
Global racing team will be managing the Trek team for 2009
Expect a bunch of heavy hitters going to Trek.

yea most definetely some big names!

Who knows what will happen with S. Smith. Another injury... not sure if a big team will want him after finishing 1 clean World Cup run out of 6 so far...

martin whitley might be one person who would want to bring him in and fine tune him though cuz he knows steve has alot of potential. and if steve was on a team with some quicker, more experienced riders i bet he would fix his crashing problem pretty quickly.

and in terms of sam hill turner or trek would be my first 2 bets since turner got dw ­link­ and trek got martin.

I was watching the World Cup Finals and one of the commentators said that he is rumoured to be going to Specialized.

no matter were that man goes he is goning to be a very fast rider. i dont think that he will be afected as much as every one is thinking because of a ­frame­ switch

Yeah for sure. It's only like 10% bike that makes the rider. All the top DH bikes out today are going to compliment him really well, but will still be interesting to see if he switches next year.
