FYI, if anyone is looking for great, scenic, flowy trails to ride...head up Church street in Ajax and you will reach a walking "park" type thing. The trails go on for ever, so mark your tracks. But there is flowy single track and even some small dirt jumps...lol. Anyway, yeh the place is awesome (though it was the site of my brothers terribly broken arm ).

The "flow track" isnt really this. It is within the xc trail...and it turns it some cool mello dh and single track for a little bit.
The dirt jumps are mello to, but kinda fun. Not really worth taking a day off to go to, you know what i mean?

Its a form of exercise at the least, like 90% of the pro Downhill riders ride cross country to train for races.

If i had the cash i would definatly own an XC machine to train on...i mean, you don't get enough of the right exercise on your street or downhill machine (seat slammed, single speed, or heavy...etc).
Plus, coming from an XC background, it gets very fun...regardless of what you ride, if you get the right trail, you don't want it to end.

maybe for you. I race DH and train on XC but still love and enjoy XC. I think being able to ride a technical downhill strech is fun, but its rewarding to ride up it

anybody who says XC is boring is dragging their ass. theres nothing boring about kicking your own ass through some tight sprints and uphills

XC is some of the best riding out there in my opinion. there isn't anything better than peaking out and having that amazing view.

those trails you guys are talking about is called the greenwood conservation area, there is also ALOT of north shore trails in there, huge long skinnys, teeters, small drops, pretty sick shit in there, just hard to find......if you go up church street, you pass taunton then you pass the train tracks, then you go up and down two hills and then on your right hand side there is the first opening into a very wide trail, as soon as you go into that trail on the right side there is a very narrow trail take that about 100-200m max then look down on your left you should see some trails down there somewhere(hard to find at this time of year) but your basically looking to go down into the little valley then ride across it to the other side and then follow the trails, they bring you right to the north shore and it goes on for a good 1/4km all skinny/north shore, i havent been there for about 3 months now, but its usually maintained by a guy who rides a santa cruz nomad, he works at lakeridge and runs the mtb courses in the summer, hes a good guy, respect him if you meet him and most of all respect his trails, he has worked very very hard on them, they are top quality, great for something to do at this time of year!
