Okie dokie! I've been thinking for months and I've still got no idea of what to get. I'm looking for either 2007 or 2006 or possibly 2005 if it's a good deal. I have a few frames in mind and they are as follows (in no particular order):
Top 5
- Specialized SX Trail
- Transition DirtBag
- Transition Bottle Rocket
- Banshee Chaparral
- Devinci Frantik
Others I would consider
- Reign XO
- Trek 77
- Norco Six (2005)
- Giant Faith
I will be using this bike at Blue Mountain and for doing jumps, drops, gaps, hips and other crazy crap like that and also to Rob’s house (about a 20-30 minute ride) on many occasions so it has to pedal decently. I would like to try and keep this bike under 40 lbs if possible. I am NOT looking for a bike like an A-Line or a Demo 9 as I live in Ontario not Whistler ….. yet.

I want something a bit smaller and more “flickable” and more manoeuvrable as I like to ride MY bike rather than have MY bike ride me. I’m 180 lbs. and 5’10” and in most cases a Medium size frame.
My main criteria is as follows:
- frame only for now as I don't have the funds for a complete
- NEW! (or used, but it has to be the right person and the right bike with the right price)
- 5-7 inch travel
- single crown (very likely)
- reasonably good pedaling
- light, but strong
- can take reasonably big hits
ALSO! Other main things to consider are PRICE and WARRANTY. As these will be HUGE factors in picking apart these frames.
I’m hoping to stay under or around 2000 for this frame.
If ANYONE has ANY info Good or Bad about any of these frames or any other frames they feel might would suit my needs PLEASE let me know.
ALSO!!! If you are going to tell me to “Get a Bottlerocket cuz itz sick” please just don’t post. PLEASE give an explanation as to what and why you think what you do.
