Today I took the Commencal for its "first ride" at Blue. Overall impressions are that the thing loves to go fast and loves the technical rocky/rooty stuff and wants to come back for more and more. Bike felt awkward on the first run but thats what happens if you havn't rode DH in over a month on a new bike (was on embryo too... havn't rode that trails since 05)? The bike deffinatly felt better on the ground then in the air the few times I found it. The 36, took everything nicely, rode nice in the travel, never bottomed but the seals seemed to go as there was oil all over my stanchions. The DHX 5 is solid even when I bottomed it, it didn't feel to rough. Guess I have to take it down from its 225 psi to adjust the bottom out. I installed new pads for my rear Juicy and about the 3rd run they finally got "worn in" and started to feel normal.
Does anyone have an E-13 SRS that they can trade for a DRS. My chain was falling off alot and I don't know if it was due to too many links in the chain or the DRS guide and not a SRS.
The arms certainly feel the brake chatter at full speed on this bike especially on Autobahan and Showcase... surprised my hands wern't flying off the bike and sending me into any trees.
