Not just a helmet sometimes. Sometimes you need a full face: And this is why:

Its not me, hes a friend of mine, I got his permission to post it. Its not just a bad way to end a day but it was also on a road trip. So it was a super shitty way to end the trip.

Yeah, ever since Al died I really don't think twice about it. I mean, there are times I will not (the ride to the store) but never when I serious about it; jumping, actual street riding. Freeriding is not even an option.
Personally I think you look cooler with a helmet, because if you have the skills, people are not looking at you and saying, "why is he wearing a helmet thats so gay." I have personally heard people that don't ride say, "Why is he NOT wearing a helmet, thats retarded." Helmets make you look cooler because they help you to move further into the sport due to the security they provide.
But hey it's people's own decisions so I guess thats what they are going to do.

ya i have definatly heard people say "why isnt he/she wearing a helmet" more than why is he/she wearing a helmet. personally i could not do anyhitng that i do wihtout a helmet, it just gives you that exrta confince to ad makes you feel secure, but obviuosly you have to keep in mind that noone is invinsable.

people that dont wear helmets these days are just plain stupid, everyone is pushing themselves to the limit and plus everyone crashes, it happens to the best of us!

^John, it looks like his lips are stitched on both the top and bottom?
They arent, the black is all the dead tissue. he only had one stich where a tooth went through his upper lip, you cant even see the stitch in the pic.
And also incase anyone thought he wasnt wearing a helmet, he was wearing a bucket but obviously it didnt protect his face:
He got "lucky" and had no neck injurys, which i guess is about the only good thing about it.

man a helmet is the best! by wearing my helmet it makes you look like a pro. most people dont wear helmets because they think it make sthem look uncool. if you just spend a little extra you can get a helmet that looks good. only cheap walmart xc helmets look bad. you can get mace,661,pro tech, bell etc helmets for under $50. its not like helmets ever really ware out unless you faceplant every day. a helmet lasts for so long.
