New Project 3 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 8
Hey guys, I'm almost finished my new DH bike project except for one major component... a frame!

Here are my specs that I have so far:
frame- ????
Fork- Fox 40 RC2
Bar- Syncros Bulk flat bar
Stem- Hussifelt
Brakes- Juicy 7's
Shifter- X9
Derailler- X9 SS cage
Cassette- Shimano 11-25
Chain- Sram PC991
Chainguide- E13 LG1
Cranks- 83mm Saint
Pedals- Kona Wah Wah
Rims- Mavic 721
Hubs- 12x150 Ringlé rear, 20mm King front
Spokes- Wheelsmith
Tires- Highrollers
Seat- Selle Itallia Trans Am
Post- Easton EA50 31.6mm

Basically I'm looking for a frame with 8-9 inches of travel that isn't too heavy. Has to have 83mm shell and 12x150 rear end. Ideally I'd like a new frame but I'm also open to good condition used frames that are size small.

Explain!?

Now that I'm in a really pissed off mood about a possibly cracked frame and don't care, I'll explain my "adventure" with Devinci. I e-mailed them at the beginning of July saying I'd like to buy a Wilson frame. Several weeks later I still have no return e-mail from Devinci. I call Devinci to find out what's going on. Apparently they are processing my order. I asked if they wanted my credit card number and shipping address to send it to me. The woman said no, I will get so-and-so to call you on Monday. I got no phone call on Monday. I was busy for a week and had no chance to call back. So two weeks ago Wednesday I call back.... no answer. I call again on Thursday and speak to someone, get the "so-and-so and didn't call you? Oh well, I'll transfer you to so-and-so right now." I get transferred over to so-and-so. So-and-so doesn't pick up phone so I leave a voicemail asking for him to call me. I wait an hour or so and call back to so-and-so and again get the voicemail. I call back to talk to the original person and say that so-and-so isn't answering his phone, is he there? The person says,"Yes, I am looking at him. He is on the phone right now and I will get him to call you once he gets off." I wait for several hours and receive no phone call. Now I am extremely pissed off and try to call back to talk to someone. I called both the person and so-and-so...no-one picked up their phones. I called about a dozen times during business hours and got no-one. I left a final voice mail asking for so-and-so to call me tomorrow (friday). I was on vacation last week in Bromont... got no e-mails, received no phone calls and had no messages on my phone. Folded the rear wheel on my A-line and I think my Mini frame is cracked. Now I am really pissed off about everything and don't know if I'm going to be racing this weekend.

OK this is the part where someone put it in to perspective.
first off don't think for a second that i'm defending devinci cause they pissed me off too.
second is not like they come back from school and go riding instead of selling you a bike at cost and make nothing on it.
and the real perspective having said that is, that stuff you are complaining about is stuff that stores should do, devinci does not sell bikes to the public in fact dealers may complaint and drop the dealership if they new they are selling bikes to you, so stop your horse roll down the window and have a smoke chico. cause now put your self on the other side.
someone that does not longer works there and was kind enough to set us up with some sweet deals has pased the info to a new person but this new person had to first go to cranworx to represent and do pr as well as be ready for the montreal bike show in september plus he does not know who you or we are so he will have to check with his bosses which also don't problably know we had that deal going on. i'm sad that this happened at the time you finaly decided to get a frame but if you are fair i think you recall my email at the begining of the season saying if anyone want a deal the time is now cause this people get busy and so do i, so later you emailed me asking if i can try when in fact the deal was for ten deals which we already got and there are ten people out there that got what they order on time with not problems whatsoever, so if you want things whenever you want you got to go to a store and pay full retail, that entitles you to your complaint, but when you got a direct factory which has not benefit to them to help you and ubiketv get something at cost maybe it should be under their terms. just my opinion cause at the end of the day your since of entitlement may cost a relationship i managed to build with a company. i guess that my pay back for sponsoring you. live nd learn what can i say. i can easily just delete this post but i'm a different kind of person, i think you are entitle to vent your opinion

Juan,

Thank you for finally shedding some light on this for me I truly appreciate it. I'm sorry that I had not stopped and thought about and realized what the situation was like on your side of things. By no means do I want to tarnish a healthy relationship with this great bike company. I'm also sorry for the problems I caused you Juan, I really do appreciate what you do for us team members and realize it's no easy task.

If it makes things easier for everyone, I guess they could just ignore my request and not deal with it as they have already done so much for us. I just dont want to create any more problems than I already have.

sounds like your horse had some advice for you
dude i really don't care i'm a big boy and i can deal with alot but we got to understand that NO ONE owes us nothing, when someone tries to do something for you, if they are not able is just because something went wrong not because the world has turned against you.
so look at it from far before you jump to conclusions.
if the truth was known you'll buy a wilson4 frame now and they release a carbon wilson4 in two weeks, maybe they'r just trying to help you but can't tell you why.
think about it you are trying to get their top of the line frame just weeks before they show the 09 ones.

PS. see i don't have to delete nothing, you posted now you got to wear it. sounds like we both learned something today.

Re:New Project 3 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
Jon’s what, 17 years old, obsessive about biking, and impatient like any other 17 year old, therefore, he might have been a little bit aggressive with his follow-ups, but that does not excuse the poor business etiquette displayed by Devinci. If they do not want to pro deal a bike for Jon, or they need to get additional info or seek their boss’ approval, then tells him directly, instead they give him false promises and the run around. Jon has the right to be pissed off.

On the other hand, Jon must be respectful of the relationship that UbikeTV has developed with Devinci, since it is their reputation that has allowed Jon access to Devinci. It is very similar to an employee / employer relationship, sometimes you cannot speak you mind because you need to keep in mind the bigger picture i.e. your represent the company, not your own interest.

Also, it is not in Devinci’s best interest to pro deal a bike for Jon, since Jon is their “retail” target market, a passionate sport rider with some disposable cash. Bike manufactures will develop relationships with up and coming rippers or established elite riders (see Primary – Devinci racing) to profile their bikes in an attempt to “market” their bikes in a favorable light to the average rider (no offence Jon). Distributors and retailers understand the ‘pro-deal” side of the business as marketing strategy. How many Ironhorse Sundays’ have been sold because Sam Hill rides them, and do you think retailers are pissed off at Sam because he gets free bikes?

Consider yourself lucky Jon, not many people of your racing ability get pro deals, let alone a free jersey, gloves, etc...

^It more than likely will.

Stores care greatly about sales and customers. Distributors and manufacturers care greatly about store distribution and advertising.
