More riders in all categories means that as the number of
downhill riders keep increasing, more funds needed to further improve the
number and quality of venues are becoming available. This will help develop
the competitors that make this sport so interesting. Ontario may remain
vertically challenged, but there is no denying that many very talented
athletes who raced among us have the potential to take it to the next level.
This year was very special for FH Racing. To have conquered the overall DH
team title in its first year made every race that much more memorable.
Everyone on the team deserves recognition: J. Baines, D. Brooks, M. Fawcett,
R. Fraser, J. French, S. Joachim, G. Labrie, C. Loftus, D. Madder, T.
Morton, J. Pocha, S. Ratte, D. Sauve, S. Strebel, D. Sweeney, B. Tellerd,
and P.J. Wegrynowski. You all contributed to this outstanding achievement
and it was an honor to ride and race with you all along.
Good times on and off the bike, a few minor injuries, a lot of wrenching
(and maybe a few cinched eyebrows from operating a potato gun) made this
year unforgettable. Nothing feels better than pushing your limits and
conquering your fears. A great sense of accomplishment comes of doing the
things you thought were impossible. Many did just that this summer and most
are already looking forward to pumping tires to what they think is just the
right pressure very soon...
One final thought: be sure to stay active during the fall & winter months in
order to come back even faster for next season. Until then, ride-on!
Freddy
P.S.: Sincere thanks go to: SirBikealot Racing, Cycle Solutions, FHR
Trading, Rhodia E.P., Foes Racing, Ventana USA, UBikeTV, Rick Loftus, and
all competitors and teams who came together, helped, and participated to
make it happen. This year simply would not have been the same without all of
you.
