pic_1.jpgE.thirteen has been making chain guides for a few years now. They have totally re thought the entire chain guiding and tensioning system. They have produced quite a few innovative guides that have really stuck out, DRS (dual ring security), STS (street trail security), SST (super street), and the 32 Special.

None of that really catered more to the side of 4x, dual slalom, and mountain cross so they made the LG 1 (light guide one). Weighing in at just 195 grams it is the lightest chain guide on the market today. It is reliable in the most intense weather conditions imaginable. It is sturdy and does not make any noise or cause any kind of resistance as the chain passes through it. Not to mention it looks insane amounts of badass it looks.

For those of you that know what its like to be given’r into the cranks full power on a 4x straightaway hoping for the chain not to snap or fall off, this is the cure for that fear. The top guide is molded with a curved entrance to prevent friction and the possibility of the chain catching on anything. The bottom pulley holds the chain just millimeters from the ring to prevent any kind of skippage. This guide system provides a huge confidence boost in yourself and for your bike. I highly recommended it for any cyclocross, 4x, DH, and SS racer/competitor.

1.      Keeps your chain secure at both ends of the chainring.

2.      The guide not on a bike.

3.      Plenty of adjustability and can support 34 – 42 chainrings.

4.      Very slim profile.

5.      One B.A. (badass) looking chainguide.
