The Law of Fives is the 5th installment of Alex Rankin’s Earthed series.
Like all the rest of the earthed videos his one is jam packed full of awesome downhill race footage from the world cup series as well as great coverage from some of the British NPS series. There are also get some great rider sections including 2 from Josh Bryceland and Ruaridh Cunningham the World Cup Junior DH Champ and the World DH champ respectively. They both show that the UK has amazingly fast riders coming up and we definitely both be ones to watch in the pros calls for 2008.
Josh Brycelands rails a corner as Alex Rankin gets another angle for the Video.
The Atherton’s section really stood out for me with Dan and Gee’s amazing riding and showing off the great riding they have at home in North Wales.
Mick Hannah has a great section rippin through some old streets at high speed and there are many as the video is a full 65 minutes long with 67 minutes of extra bonus footage and all 132 minutes are pack with super fast riding action.
Dan Atherton going super high on a home hip and whipping out some trail style on their home dirt jumps
Mick Hannah launching a road gap in his section of The Law of Fives
Now I can do a review or speak for that matter about anything do with Downhill racing in 2007 with out mentioning Sam Hill. There is a great section with Sam doing his thing in Quebec and the race footage of Sam is just incredible. I know Alex Rankin is a great camera man but I don’t think you can get bad footage of Sam Hill. I think you have to be a rider to appreciate how fast and how smooth and how he makes everything look so easy and natural on the bike.

Mr. Hill doing with he does best: going stupid fast through corners
Sam going full speed moto-style at the WC in Schlading Austria
A sight you can be sure you will see again, Mr. Sam Hill on the top of the World Champs Podium
If you like Downhill racing or just like to watching some of the best riders in the world go super fast then you need to pick up a copy of Earthed 5: the law of fives. Ever downhill rider should own at least one of the the Earthed videos and if you have seen any of them then give yourself a late Christmas present and buy the box set of Earthed 1 through 4 and then a copy of Earthed 5. This will no doubt help your winter blues cause from not being on your bike and get your charged up for the riding season ahead.
