The Dual Slalom went off today in the on and off rain. The very well
constructed track held up nicely to the rain thanks to the awesome
trail crew. Brian Lopes was upset in the round of sixteen. Two
unexpected young racers went head-to-head in the mens final; Chris
Hernon (Team Decline America) 3rd, Nico Vink (Trek) 2nd next to J.D.
Swanguen (Intense) who took home the 2500$ prize. In the women Anneke
Beerten (Intense) 1st, Rachel Atherton (Animal Commencal) 2nd, Fionn
Griffiths (Norco) 3rd, and Canadian Micayla Gatto in 4th!
Sam Hill will be looking to defend his title as the Garbanzo DH goes
off tomorrow at 4:30. Hopefully the rain holds off for the sake of the
riders on this technically and physically challenging track.
