Entertainment line-up promises non-stop action on and off the mountain

WHISTLER, BC July 9, 2007 – Kokanee Crankworx Mountain Bike Festival continues to outdo itself announcing this year’s stellar entertainment line-up. Hit up the Monster Mainstage for free live concerts at the base of the Whistler Mountain Bike Park or check out nearby patios for the Kokanee Aftershok DJ series July 20-22 and July 27-29.

Kokanee Crankworx has kicked up the number of on-hill events this year and no-less would do for the entertainment line-up. Over a dozen bands and performers ranging from the laidback sounds of Slackstring, Wassabi Collective and Redeye to the funky beats of  Hey Ocean!, DNA6 and Quest Poetics. Other bands to hit the Monster Mainstage are Los Rastrillos, Cold Drive, Auto Switch, The Sessions, Kuba Oms and Velvet, Animal Nation, Moka Only and Whistler’s own, Whole Lotta Led.
On July 26 the Kokanee Crankworx Block Party will bring down the village with a movie experience of gigantic proportions.  New World Disorder will simulcast a compilation of Crankworx’s greatest moments in addition to their much-anticipated trailer for NWD 8 on the JumboTron, in Black’s Pub, the Dubh Linn Gate, the Garibaldi Lift Co and the Longhorn Saloon. The world premiere of “Have You Seen It” will also be screened.

Don’t miss the Kokanee Aftershok DJ series rotating from the patios of the GLC, Longhorn Saloon and Citta’s. Join the Kokanee Glacier Girls, DJ Foxy Moron and friends for après beats, gorgeous sunshine and a cool beverage at any of these perfect patio locations for the chance to win great prizes and cool Kokanee swag.

Aside from the incredible concert line-up, check out the extensive selection of exhibitors snaking through the village and at the base of the Whistler Mountain Bike Park. The latest gear, prototypes and bikes for the on-park demo section will be on display. Throughout the festival, Ryan Leech and the Baia Brothers provide entertainment for the whole family with trials demos and gravity-defying feats.
